Geoff and Paul recap their Prestigious Pints conversation with agile inspiration of theirs, Henrik Kniberg. They talked about the history of the Spotify model, and what made him decide to go back to being a developer again instead of coaching.
Geoff and Paul recap their Prestigious Pints conversation with the one and only agile legend that is Lyssa Adkins. They talked a lot about mental health and wellbeing in the world and the agile environment in general as well as her career to date and future plans.
Oh what a special episode this is! The boys were back inside a real pub after a full day's fishing! So, to celebrate they had not just one drink but two while talking about what people look for from training and what they ultimately get. This led them on to self-discovery and then status - whether we have a bias for high or low status, whether certain roles are more high or low status and whether our job titles affect our perception of status.
You've probably noticed our new logo - whaddaya think?
And in other amazing news we got back into a real live pub! Well...outside a real live pub but that's still pretty cool, especially as the sun was out! In episode 116 we talked about the challenge of people keeping their cameras off when on work video calls. We hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
This is an "Ask The Landlord" episode where we covered a question from one of our patrons about the speed of decisions. This led us to talk about precrastinators (like Geoff) and procrastinators (like Paul) and unconscious heuristics (or good old intuition as Paul calls it) before looking at Cynefin, decision fatigue and Paul crumbling under pressure on TV gameshows. Enjoy!!
From our homes, UK. In this episode, Geoff and Paul round-up their chat with another one of their agile heroes, Sandy Mamoli. In a new type of pubcast for 2021, Geoff and Paul will be chatting with some of their agile inspirations over a drink.
If you are interested in seeing the full interview with Sandy, and getting all the new interviews as they drop, then check out our "Full Pints" membership:
Sandy is an awesome multi-lingual coach and all round individual who has blazed a trail over in New Zealand (and many other countries as well) for all things agile and it was great to finally catch up with her and chat about all things agile.
We were so excited to have a drink with the awesome Chris Williams of Badass Agile in Canada. Apart from the inevitable pandemic conversation, we discussed the concept of Mastery as a discipline. That, and how failure is still a stigma.
Chris is a legend of agile podcasting, having recorded nearly 500 episodes and please do check out his website https://badassagile.com/ where you can find out about the podcast and his badass leadership program called The Forge.
Chris also kindly donated some goodies just for our patrons so check out the patreon.com/theagilepubcast to see his exclusive 20 minute clip on the leader qualities of Navy SEALs and accompanying slide deck for you to re-use and enjoy.
